PEACE、PCCW GLOBAL And INTERXION REACHES A CONSENSUS ON COOPERATION AT THE LOCATION OF TERMINATION AND INTERCONNECTION EQUIPMENT.

PEACE: An international submarine cable system company which devotes to interconnect global communication announced today a cooperative partnership with PCCW GLOBAL and Interxion to locate the Pakistan and East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) subsea cable system’s termination and interconnection equipment in Interxion’s MRS2 data centre in Marseille, France, enabling low-latency access to over 160 connectivity providers along with multiple content, cloud, gaming and video streaming platforms.

PEACE finished the first cable loading

[Changshu, Nov 20, 2020] PEACE announced that the first cable loading for Mediterranean Segment ( PEACE Med) has been successfully achieved. The freighter Sophia is going to Brest, France in the morning of November 21.

PEACE cable completed phased factory acceptance

PEACE cable has successfully completed a phased factory acceptance work of submarine cables on March. Under the outbreak of the coronavirus, PEACE collaborated with partners and suppliers, completed a phased factory acceptance of submarine cables on March to ensure the milestones and progress of PEACE project. Totally 19 segments for 2,800 kilometers long was tested under a strict process of optical, electrical and physical inspection. The success of acceptance indicated the technical fulfillment of PEACE submarine cable segments and smooth running of PEACE project even under a public crisis of COVID-19 in China.

PEACE heads to the south of Africa

PEACE Cable International Network Co., Limited, and PCCW Global, will cooperate on the PEACE South extension of the Pakistan East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) submarine cable system. This cooperation positions PEACE as a major cable system to head south from the crucial high-speed Europe-Asia route, in a move that will deliver far-reaching connectivity benefits to the whole of the southern African region. The cooperation on extension of PEACE to southern Africa follows the overall success of the cable development project and the smooth implementation of operations, from survey activities and the issuing of the relevant country permits through to manufacturing and factory acceptance. An experienced development team has successfully steered the overall project, including the implementation of an innovative commercial component to bundle traditional and new capacity products and services on the same cable system. New technologies deployed in the construction phase of the project will enable each country's bandwidth allocation to be modified during the lifetime of the cable. Once the cable is live, individual cable stakeholders will have the ability to independently structure the network according to their own specifications, without affecting others using the same cable system. PEACE and PCCW Global signed the LPA with Orange to Land PEACE Cable in France

On 17th Sep 2019, PEACE, PCCW Global, and Orange officially signed their agreement to deploy the new submarine cable - PEACE Med, during the Submarine Networks World international fair currently being held in Singapore. The draft agreement was announced during the Capacity Europe event in November 2018, and the final agreement was signed during this event. This agreement marks the arrival of the first Chinese neutral submarine cable in France. PEACE refers to Pakistan and East Africa Connecting Europe, is an open and neutral submarine cable system invested by HENGTONG Optic-Electric, the global information and energy network service provider. Measuring 12,000 kilometres in length, PEACE will link France to Pakistan through a single landing point in the city of Marseille by 2021 using the Europe-Asia route, and the city of Mombasa in Kenya, via a short route towards the Indian Ocean that will ensure optimum latency, and extend to South Africa in the future, reaching 15,000 kilometres totally. Through this agreement, Orange - the leading telecommunications operator in France - will supply and operate the cable landing station in Marseille to link it to one of the city’s major data centres, and to make it a gateway to the European network; and even to the Americas thanks to access to the transatlantic network accessible from France. Hengtong Signed the Landing Party Agreement with Telecom Egypt for PEACE

The Landing Party Agreement for PEACE cable system was signed between Telecom Egypt, Hengtong and PCCW Global on 27th April, 2019 in Beijing during the second One Belt And One Road summit. In the presence of the minister of telecommunication of Egypt Dr. Amr Talaat and the chairman of Hengtong Group Mr. Cui Genliang, Mr. Adel Hamed, CEO of Telecom Egypt, Mr. Wu Qianjun, VP of Hengtong Group and CEO of PEACE, Mr. Jordick Wong, senior VP of PCCW Global, together signed the agreement. Also Mr. Tan Huiliang, the CEO of Hengtong International Business Unit signed the strategic cooperation LOI with Telecom Egypt. PCCW Global and HENGTONG Group to connect three continents with high speed PEACE cable project

PCCW Global, the international operating division of HKT, Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications service provider, and Chinese technology and industrial giant, the HENGTONG Group, have signed a cooperation agreement to connect China to Europe and Africa via the Pakistan East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) undersea cable project, a new high-speed connection which is planned to go live in early 2020.
